Marie-Claire Greve (1966) Photographer and Nature Conservationist; Finalist BigPicture 2019 (USA); Winner reportage photography Festival International du Film et Photography Animaliers et Nature (2019); part of Anna Singer Collection and private collections in the USA and Europe.
Curious by nature and not afraid to experiment with her camera, Marie-Claire often chooses unusual perspectives or angles for her distinctive abstract compositions. “I have always been drawn to the more elementary features of the landscape, especially those wild places that have been shaped for centuries by wind and water”. Her abstract approach in her art provokes questions in need to be answered which for her is the beginning of deeper conversation about nature and mankind. it is important to strengthen the relation with Mother Nature.
“I love to make the most of soft, evocative light to achieve the subtle tones that define my work. All we see is created by Mother Nature however seen and captured through my eye”
We are excited to premier Greve’s very new series SALT and Frozen Past at the PAN Amsterdam.
There is also a philanthropic side to Greve’s photographic art. Through her photography
she seeks to inspire, re-connect and educate people of all ages and ethnicities, as well
as organizations active in the conservation of Earth’s precious biospheres, based on a
philosophy of coexistence. As, she believes it is not nature we need to save and protect
but reach out to people to create a shift in awareness about the interrelationship
between humankind and nature, and consequently the growing importance to protect
the natural world we live in.
